Leasing an Audi A6

History of Audi A6

The Audi A6 burst onto the market in 1994 as the C4, based on the executive Audi 100 design. It was always marketed as a practical range that put a premium on space, whether for coupe or saloon designs, but the latest generation took this concept and added a whole new level of luxury.

Audi A6 Engines and Performance

There are petrol and diesel fuel types available, as well as a hybrid model, the TFSI E. Engine sizes are 2.0-litre or 3.0-litre and return fuel economy of between 34 mpg and 51 mpg. The 45 TFSI Quattro offers 265 PS of power, while the 50 TFSI has 340 PS. The 3.0-litreAllroad model also offers a 55 TFSI engine that provides the same power as the 50 TFSI. Diesel options include the standard TDI Quattro Sport with 204 PS of power, the 3.0-litre 50 TDI with 286 PS of power. The Allroad also offers the 45 TDI with 231 PS of power. All transmissions are 7-speed S tronic automatics, with the exception of the Allroad’s 8-speed gearbox. Some models also come with the Tiptronic semi-automatic gearbox, sometimes referred to as ‘Tip Auto’. The hybrid engine offers a 2.0-litre engine with an electric motor to produce 299 PS of power and uses a 7-speed S tronic transmission. It takes around six hours to charge from a normal household socket.

Related Ranges from Other Manufacturers

The Mercedes E Class range is a similar design and offers comparable performance to the A6, as does a BMW 5 Series. For comfort, however, Audi remains the most attractive option.
