Leasing a BMW i3

Background to the BMW i3

First produced in 2013, the i3 holds the enviable title of being BMW’s first-ever mass-produced electric vehicle. Its latest models, the i3 and the sportier sibling, the i3S, are part of the broader family of electric and hybrid cars produced by BMW. With five-doors and rear-wheel drive, the i3 hatchback will zip you from A to B with minimum fuss and zero environmental impact.

BMW i3 Engines and Performance

The BMW i3 has a driving range of up to 188 miles which will take you on a return trip from London to Brighton. The i3’s electric motor can go from 0-62 mph in 7.3 seconds, while the i3S reduces that time down to just 6.9 seconds with the benefit of 184hp. WLTP CO2 emissions are zero, leaving your friends green with envy at your lease car’s green credentials.

BMW i3 Trim Levels

You have the choice between the BMW i3 and BMW i3S, which has a 14hp increase in power and a sportier exterior. Both trims include a range of sustainable features including materials such as Kenaf, a natural, non-woven fabric harvested from Malva plants. The BMW i3 has 19-inch alloy wheels and an adjustable steering wheel.

BMW i3 Safety and Infotainment Features

Both i3 versions come with the standard BMW infotainment system which includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen with sat nav, DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity. The navigation system has the additional benefit of displaying the nearest battery charging points around the country, and will warn you if the nearest charge point is out of your range. You’ll also get full LED headlights as standard for additional safety.

BMW i3 Servicing and Warranty

Your BMW i3 lease comes with a BMW manufacturer’s three-year warranty and access to their servicing and repairs network. For more information, visit the BMW website.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is it to lease a BMW i3?

If you’re looking to drive away in your brand new BMW i3 car lease, there are a few details we’ll need in order to calculate the price. This includes how much you want to contribute as your initial payment, the length of your lease and your estimated annual mileage. We’ll also need to factor in things like the trim you choose for your monthly rental price.  If necessary, extra fees like excess mileage will be calculated at the end of your lease.

Is it better to buy or lease a BMW i3?

Here’s the question - do you want to be able to drive a premium vehicle and upgrade every few years without having to pay out the full cost of a new car? If the answer is yes, then leasing a car is for you. All you need to plan for is the initial rental and then your manageable monthly payments. Road tax is included and business car leases are ex VAT - personal leases are inc VAT.
