Honda HR-V Lease

The Honda HR-V is a stylish self-charging hybrid SUV with a bit of ‘coupe-cool’ and ‘green collar’ goodness thrown in. It’s a great choice for a midsized family and an incredibly versatile load-lugger too thanks to Honda’s ‘magic seats’. Keep reading and we’ll let you in on the trick! Less More

The Honda HR-V is one of two SUVs from the Japanese giant. It’s based on the same platform as the Jazz supermini, with the CR-V being its boxier big sister.

The HR-V is hybrid-only, and diesel has been consigned to the dinosaur age. The 1.5-litre petrol engine is assisted by Honda’s e:HEV hybrid system, which intelligently switches between three electric-assisted driving modes to deliver a WLTP combined economy figure of 52.3mpg. Not bad for an SUV.

Where you do get a lot of choice, however, is in the storage capacity of the HR-V. It might not look like a big, bullying SUV on the outside, but there’s more than enough space inside. There’s 470 litres of boot space with all seats in place, which expands to 1,533 litres with the rear bench collapsed.

But that’s not all. Honda’s ‘magic seats’ fold in no less than 18 configurations (they even fold upwards!) so you can easily stand tall items in the rear footwell, or create a completely flat loading bay if you need it.

Bluetooth connectivity comes as standard, and SE trims and above feature a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display with sat-nav, DAB radio, and a six-speaker set-up for more entertaining family excursions.

The HR-V is also built to inspire confidence as a family car, with an impressive five star Euro NCAP rating.
