Mazda 3 Saloon Lease

The Mazda3 Saloon is a smart alternative to the stereotypical German executive saloon.  Less More

The Mazda3 Saloon has a larger boot and more steeply sloping roofline compared to the Mazda3 Hatchback. Mazda also produces a larger saloon, the Mazda6 Saloon.

When it comes to engines, the Mazda3 Saloon is a straightforward affair. There’s one petrol mild-hybrid engine available, the 2.0-litre E-SKYACTIV X. All models are front-wheel-drive. You can choose between a manual or automatic gearbox, though the manual offers better fuel consumption (55.4mpg vs 47.9mpg) and CO2 emissions figures.

Four trim levels are available: SE-L Lux, Sport Lux, GT Sport, and GT Sport Tech. Entry-level SE-L Lux is generously equipped, with heated front seats, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, and an 8.8-inch infotainment screen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Execs will want to up-spec to the GT Sport trim or above, which includes a range of features for added comfort and convenience. There’s 8-way power adjustment with memory and adjustable lumbar support for the driver, as well as a heated leather-trimmed steering wheel and a 12-Speaker Bose surround sound system.

The Mazda3 Saloon has a generous 450 litres of boot space, which is more than the 334 litres you find in the hatchback. It’s large enough for a folded down buggy and your weekly shop. With all seats down, you get a totally flat loading bay.

Families will appreciate the Mazda3 Saloon’s 5 star Euro NCAP rating. Those looking for even more reassurance should opt for the GT Sport Tech trim, which brings Cruising and Traffic Support, Driver Monitoring, Front Cross Traffic Alert, and a 360 degree parking camera.

What about alternatives? There are the more traditional executive saloons, like the Audi A3 Saloon.
