Predictably, the C-Class Estate offers more space inside than the C-Class Saloon. Within the Mercedes’ estate car line-up, it sits somewhere between the larger E-Class Estate and the smaller, sportier CLA Shooting Brake.

There’s the budget-friendly best-seller E 220 d Sport with its impressive fuel economy of 55.4mpg; the frugal hybrid 300e AMG-Line (perfect for company car drivers), and the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ Night Edition Premium Plus, which does 0-60mph in just 3.5 seconds. 

The cabin is a feather in Mercedes’ cap, with high-grade finishes throughout. The Sport Edition comes with leather upholstery, brushed aluminium trim on the doors and dashboard, and a high-gloss centre console which is replaced with an attractive open-pore wood in AMG Line versions.

Mercedes’ powerful infotainment system keeps passengers entertained and ensures you arrive on time. There are two stunning digital displays: a 12.3-inch driver’s display and an 11.9-inch central infotainment screen that mimic the look and feel of the flagship S-Class. The system is controlled by touch, or a simple ‘Hey Mercedes’. 

There are 490 litres of boot space with the rear seats in place, and 1,510 litres with them folded down. 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats offer plenty of flexibility.
