Mercedes GLS Lease
The GLS perfectly encapsulates the idea that bigger is better. The GLS is an immensely practical seven seater and a superb luxury car with more top tech than you’d know what to do with. More
The GLS is essentially an SUV version of the S-Class. It’s the largest SUV in Mercedes’ line-up, though the GLE Estate and GLB both come in seven seat configurations. If you’re less concerned with seven seats than you are with driving a luxurious off-roader, the G-Class may also be of interest.
The GLS has a selection of petrol and diesel engines with 4MATIC four-wheel-drive and mild-hybrid assistance. The entry-level GLS 400 d 4MATIC has plenty to recommend it. It’s quick to pull away (0-60mph in 6.3 seconds) and at 32.2mpg has better economy than most this size. The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 and Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 offer next-level performance and luxury, if you’re willing to stump up the cash.
The standard GLS has an outstanding fit and finish, with high quality leathers, open-pore wood, and mood-setting ambient lighting throughout.
Folding tables can be added to the rear to create the ultimate workstation, and Mercedes Maybach owners can add champagne flute holders for their expensive silver-plated Maybach branded champagne flutes.
At 5.2 metres long by 2 metres wide, the GLS might seem like an unwieldy beast. Thankfully, a 360 degree camera and PARKTRONIC Active Parking Assist make it easier than ever to manoeuvre.
The GLS’ five star Euro-NCAP score, and the assortment of active safety features like DISTRONIC Active Driving Assist, Active Steering Assist, and Traffic Sign Assist are reassuring when you’re travelling with family.
The GLE Estate’s main rivals are the BMW X7, and the slightly smaller seven-seaters, the Audi Q7, Land Rover Discovery and Volvo XC90.
