Leasing a SEAT Leon
Background to the SEAT Leon
It feels like the SEAT Leon has been around forever. Unveiled in 1998, it’s been a consistent presence on UK roads ever since, undergoing plenty of updates and facelifts along the way. In fact, the SEAT Leon has a real knack for constantly improving, evolving and exceeding customer expectations. And it's never afraid to branch out; the release of the SEAT Leon Estate and the high-performance Leon Cupra helped widen the brand's appeal.
SEAT Leon Engines and Performance
The SEAT Leon has three types of petrol engines. Low mileage motorists will be more than happy with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol, although daily commuters will appreciate the extra bit of power in the Leon hatchback 1.5-litre model. The 2.0-litre TSI is the top petrol engine. It has an impressive 190 bhp and economy of 64 mpg. Customers opting for the Leon diesel hatchback can choose between the 115bhp or the 150bhp 2.0-litre TDI engine. The Leon offers a 5- or 6-speed manual gearbox, or a 7-speed automatic.
SEAT Leon Trim Levels
The entry-level SE trim features include 16-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights. FR trims are for drivers who want a sportier driving experience. You'll also get a rear-view camera, smart cruise control and a stylish micro-suede interior. For the full package, select the Xcellence trims; highlights include leather upholstery, keyless ignition and a range of driver-assistance and safety systems.
SEAT Leon Safety and Infotainment Features
The Leon’s adaptive cruise control system uses radar technology to scan the road ahead, making sure there's always a safe distance between you and other cars. SEAT's 'Media System Plus' infotainment system has a colour touchscreen and sat-nav. You can also sync with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It means you can pull up entertainment apps or send hands-free texts messages while driving.
SEAT Leon Servicing and Warranty
SEAT advises a yearly service, although high mileage drivers should get their vehicles checked after every 10,000 miles on the road. Every new car from SEAT comes with a three-year/60-000-mile manufacturer’s warranty on repairs, breakdown, and paint defects.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I buy or lease a SEAT Leon?
A car lease is a flexible and potentially cost-effective alternative to buying a vehicle outright. Leasing customers put down an initial deposit, followed by fixed monthly payments which cover depreciation costs. They then return the car at the end of the contract. Because you never own the vehicle, leasing is usually less expensive than other types of finance.
How does leasing a SEAT Leon work?
A personal lease deal will be quoted inc VAT, while a business lease will be exc VAT. You will need to pay the initial rental to access a contract hire deal. Road tax is included.
