History of Skoda Fabia

The Skoda Fabia is a compact family car that boasts an excellent range of trim levels and a five-star sterling safety record. The Skoda Fabia comes in two models: the Skoda Fabia Hatchback and the Skoda Fabia Estate. The supermini ticks all the boxes that an excellent family hatchback requires being comfortable, practical and roomy and housing a generous 330-litre boot. The Fabia Estate is based on the Fabia Hatchback and shares the same body style. It first appeared on the market in 2014, and underwent a makeover in 2018 which updated the model with brighter LED headlights and an upgraded 6.5-inch infotainment system. Skoda also makes the impressive Octavia and Kamiq SUV.

Skoda Fabia Engines and Performance

When it comes to engines, the Skoda Fabia is offered solely with the fuel type of petrol. The standard petrol engine is the 1.0-litre MPI model which provides a smooth drive around town and goes from 0-62mph in 16.4 seconds. The other engine offered is the 1.0-litre TSI turbo offered in either 94bhp or 108bhp which are both cheaper and more economical but the 108bhp petrol is the fastest and reaches 62mph in 9.7 seconds. The engines have a five- or six-speed manual gearbox, or the optional automatic transmission. Fuel economy is between 45 mpg and 53 mpg. You can rely on a smooth and comfortable drive regardless of the engine, and the suspension delivers a comfortable ride.

Skoda Fabia Features

Skoda Fabia vehicles have excellent top of the range infotainment features. Drivers will benefit from DAB radio, an infotainment screen and premium features such as cruise control, air con and rear parking sensors.  If you upgrade to the top of the trim levels, such as the Monte Carlo, there are stylish black wheels, privacy glass and a firmer suspension. The Skoda Fabia estate also is offered with the Colour Edition. The range also has excellent safety features which include rear parking sensors, lane-keeping assistance and automatic emergency braking.

Skoda Fabia Servicing and Warranty

The Skoda Fabia hatchback and estate have a three-year/60,000 mile warranty which has the potential to be extended to five years/100,000 miles at an extra cost. Skoda recommends that you have your vehicle serviced annually.
