There’s a choice of two mild-hybrids and a single plug-in hybrid powertrain. The B4 diesel all-wheel-drive is the most economical of the mild-hybrids, returning 44.8mpg.
If you have access to a charging point, you may be better served by the more expensive T6 AWD plug-in hybrid. When fully charged, the battery is able to deliver 48.5 miles of pure-electric range. It’ll also cut your emissions down to just 23g/km, which is a boon for businesses and company car drivers who want to cut down their BiK rates.
The XC60 is also the ideal choice for family holidays. Depending on whether you opt for single or dual axle drive, the XC60 has between 2,100kg and 2,400kg braked towing capacity. There’s also 505 litres of boot space, and a ski hatch to slide longer items between rear passengers. Rear seats fold in a 40/60 configuration, and there’s a total of 1,455 litres with all folded flat.
