There’s a choice of three petrol engines, and you can choose between all- or rear-wheel drive. The entry-level P300 rear-wheel drive engine has plenty of power, with a top speed of 155mph and a 0-60mph sprint time of just 5.4 seconds. 

You might still be tempted by the top-tier F-Type R P575 all-wheel-drive, however, which does the same sprint in 3.5 seconds and tops out at 186mph. 

Inside, the dashboard is refreshingly minimalist. Luxury soft-touch materials are used throughout. Sports seats come as standard, with six-way electric adjustment, though you can upgrade to more supportive 12-way memory front seats (standard on the ‘R’ model) and heated seats for optimal interior comfort. 

The F-Type packs in an assortment of top-tech as standard, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. It’s easy to use, too, thanks to the new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The driver’s binnacle is also fully-digital, with a 12.3-inch customisable display allowing you to switch it up between traditional ‘twin dials’ or a race-worthy central rev-counter when you’re out on the track. 

The entry-level F-Type competes with the Porsche 718 Cayman S, Audi TT RS Coupe, and Alpine A110.
