Genesis G80 Saloon Lease

The Genesis G80 is one of a growing number of cars offered by the Korean luxury arm of Hyundai. It’s joined by the smaller G70 Saloon and the Electrified G80.

There’s a choice of two engines on the G80: a 2.2-litre diesel with 207 BHP and a 2.5-litre petrol with 300 BHP. The diesel is rear-wheel drive and offers the best fuel economy, while the petrol offers all-wheel-drive and impressive straight line speed, accelerating from 0-62 MPH in just 6 seconds. Both engines use an eight-speed automatic gearbox to shift seamlessly between gears and keep things quiet when cruising. 

The interior is elegant and has a solid, expensive feel. There’s a variety of colour schemes and real wood finishes to choose from, along with aluminium highlights. A 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment screen takes centre stage on the dashboard, and it’s compatible with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The 9-speaker surround sound system is great, but audiophiles can upgrade to a 17-speaker Lexicon (Harman Kardon) set-up if they prefer. 

The G80 is available in two varieties, Premium Line and Luxury Line. Both are suitably well-equipped, with the former packing LED headlights, electrically-adjustable heated front seats, dual-zone air conditioning, cruise control, and an array of parking sensors. The top trim level brings luxurious leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, and an electric tailgate. 

The G80 doesn’t come cheap, so it’s reassuring that they’ve added a lot of safety equipment as standard. It scores five stars on Euro NCAP’s latest safety standard, and the innovation pack adds even more automated safety features, including advanced emergency braking and lane change assistance.
